Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub (American actress, comedian, activist) is a comedian. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents Her career began as a child performer soon after her move to the United States. Her appearances as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials between 2013 and 2016 - and in 2020 - have made her famous. She was also a regular series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). Additionally, she was a regular on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub was initially chosen to play the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's unaired pilot for New Warriors in 2018, has voiced the character since. Vayntrub was Jewish and was born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. When she was two years old her parents and she relocated to the U.S. as refugees to escape antisemitism, settling in West Hollywood. At five years of age, she began appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials. This was partly due to economic hardships in her family. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. She dropped out of school following her sophomore year. She earned an GED and then was able to earn an undergraduate degree in Arts (Communication) from the University of California San Diego. Vayntrub studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade.
